Drum Center of Indianapolis- Vintage Drums

Monthly Feature Story By Harry Cangany

Where Are We Going?

There have been amazing transactions in the 2000-1 year. I won't even hear about all of them but we have seen tremendous value jumps on some models. The Gladstone is now a $15,000 and up snare. Black Beauties are as much as $6,000. The "new" rising star is the mid 60s Rogers Dyna-Sonic. I remember buying them for $250-350 and now the choice ones are going for $3,200 and up.

There are collectors with quarter of a million-dollar collections- some even more. The interest is at an all time high and the availability on information has never been greater.

And it is a worldwide economy- drums are coming and going all over the place.

Oh yes, and in 2000; one snare went for $50,000- pretty neat, eh? But another one went for $100,000.

Look our guitar owners, WE are on our way!
