Drum Center of Indianapolis- Vintage Drums

Monthly Feature Story By Harry Cangany

February 9, 1964

Oh what a night! I saw and kept a TV magazine that had a story and a caricature of the Lads from Liverpool-- the Beatles. Those 40 years passed awfully fast.

My parents, sister and I watched Ed Sullivan every Sunday night, but this night was so special. We were there and saw history in the making. It was such an exciting night.

The next day, the boys in my eighth grade class were buzzing about the night before. It was that day-- February 10 that I decided I wanted to play drums. About four months later and a number of lessons, I was the proud owner of a silver sparkle Ludwig Super Classic set. It wasn't Ringos finish, but it was Ringo's brand. That beautiful set is still with me.

The Beatle music, the driving beats, the fun that playing drums bring us is all wonderful.

If you'd like to learn more about 60s Ludwig drums, then I invite you to get a copy of my book, "The Great American Drums".
