Drum Center of Indianapolis- Vintage Drums

Monthly Feature Story By Harry Cangany

Hope Springs Eternal

Within the last year, I have seen amazing treasures come into the market. Mostly at flea markets and garage sales, buyers have found amazing vintage prices at bargain basement prices. The one that stands out was a 1950 Gretsch Max Roach piccolo snare found with a bag for $2. The drum brought $2000 in the open market.

There are lots of examples of sets and trades that create under $100 costs. Sure there aren't the dozens of them from years ago, but there is still "gold in them thar hills." Don't give up... keep looking. If you'd like to see some of the drums worth finding, then I invite you to order my book, "The Great American Drums". It's only $19.95 plus shipping and I'll send you an autographed copy.
